J&K Edu Dept Announces Summer Vacation Extension Decision
Srinagar, Jul 16: The School Education Department has confirmed that there will be no extension to the summer vacation, instructing students to return to classes on July 18.
A statement on the microblogging site X from the School Education Department (SED) announced, “All Schools (Govt. & Private recognized) shall be re-opened on 18.7.2024, after summer vacations across the UT.”
Additionally, the department directed Chief Education Officers, Zonal Education Officers, and Heads of Institutions (HoIs) to implement a cleanliness advisory upon reopening.
Cleanliness Guidelines for Schools:
– Ensure thorough cleaning of all premises, including classrooms, corridors, and common areas.
– Maintain clean and hygienic toilets.
– Disinfect water tanks to provide safe drinking water.
– Clear rooftops of any debris.
– Trim lawns and grounds for a neat and safe environment.
– Remove all junk, waste, and debris to maintain a clutter-free school environment.
– Identify and eliminate stagnant water to prevent mosquito breeding.
– Inspect and repair any water leakages to prevent water waste and infrastructure damage.
The advisory from SED emphasized the importance of these measures to ensure a safe, clean, and conducive environment for students returning to school.
On June 30, SED had previously announced a summer vacation for all schools in winter zones from July 8 to July 17.
